Instruction ranges from beginner handgun safety and concealed carry qualification to advanced tactical movement and defensive rifle courses. Class formats vary widely, with options for private one-on-one coaching, women-only groups, or full-day group workshops. Choosing the right provider depends on whether ammo and rentals are included in the fee or if you need to bring your own gear.

Class duration depends on state requirements, but most introductory qualification courses run between four and eight hours. They typically combine classroom instruction on local laws with a brief live-fire qualification on the range.
How much do firearm training classes typically cost?
Basic safety and state permit classes often cost between $75 and $150. Multi-day or specialized tactical courses generally run from $200 to $500 or more, excluding the cost of ammunition.
